US Wins Presidents Cup
US won the presidents Cup for the sixth time this year beating the International team at Harding Park in San Francisco. Tiger Woods sank the winning putt to complete the win with a score line of 19 1/2 points to 14 1/2 .
On the final day of eighth Presidents Cup, US needed just 5 points from the 12 singles rubbers and when Hunter Mahan beat Camilo Vilegas 2 and 1 and Stewar Cink overpowered Australian Adam Scot 4 and 3 to secure the second match, US team smelled victory.
Further to this Australian, Robert Allenby miss a short putt on the 15th and gifted Anthony Kim from the US a 5 and 3 win. Sean O’Hair’s won over Ernie Els 6 and 4 in the fourth match.
Tiger Woods won the 5th match against Korean USPGA Champion Y E Yang to finalise USA’s win of the Presidents Cup and also fulfilled his revenge for the USPGA Championship at Hazeltine in August when Yang came from two shots behind to win the championship.
