O’Hair Challenges Woods in Tour Championship
Last week brought in new excitement as Tiger Woods brought home the championship cup in Chicago. However, this week’s Tour Championship is already noting differences, with competitors that have offered new challenges outside of last week’s Fed Ex Cup win. This week, Sean O’Hair has moved up in the tour championship to challenge the golfers on this tour.
The current championship, which is being held as one of the last of the FedEx Cup rounds, is now leading into new expectations for those interested in the $10 million prize. O’Hair stepped up to his game with a 4 – under 66 in the first round, which moved him into the one shot lead over all other players, including Tiger Woods. This is followed by Cink and Harrington, with Woods in place four.
The Tour Championship is one of the last on the yearly tours for golf professionals. There are currently eight players that have moved into this final position. O’Hair is currently in place number 7; however, his current start for this week’s championship course may offer different challenges with his lead in the first round. O’Hair’s hope is to get a five shot lead throughout this specific part of the tour, which will begin to change the outcome of the overall tour.
The main challenge that the golf competitors are expecting for this weekend’s round is from the changes in weather that have occurred. The amount of rain that was over the course throughout the week is making the golfing championship even more challenging, even though most of the area is beginning to clear.
The new competitive edge that is beginning this weekend’s Tour Championship is one that is changing the frontier that many of the competitors are looking into. With the possibilities that the golfers are bringing to the course, are new competitive rounds that are expected to alter the leads and outcomes for those currently playing on the course.
