Accenture Ends Tiger Woods Sponsorship Deal
Accenture, the global consulting firm that has tied all its ads with Tiger Woods for the last 6 years decided to end its sponsorship deal now with the perspective that Woods is “no longer the right representative” for their brand. Accenture however is not the first one break out of the sponsorship deal with Tiger. Gillette was the first one to mention that they would cut back on Woods role in representing their brand.
“Accenture has made a decision to not continue with their sponsorship. We are disappointed but respect their decision,” said Mark Steinberg, Woods’ agent.
Though Accenture and Gillette has decided to move out of their sponsorship agreement, Nike, Electronic Arts and Tag Heuer stood by Tiger and also the US telecom giant AT & T is still evaluating the relation.
Till the time the scandal broke out Tiger Woods have been one of the prime targets for major corporations and has earned a fortune from all these sponsorship. Now that the scandal has already tarnished his image some brands trend to drop him but more importantly his decision to take a hiatus from golf might be influencing their decision all the more.
